Making history in Glasgow!
This week we braced ourselves for a snowy M6 and boldly headed up to King Tuts in Glasgow for an exciting live gig and videoshoot. Luckily for us, the fab people at Popmorphic Studios near Glasgow dragged an incredible 25 cameras and full crew into King Tuts to film our set – their first official external shoot! The night was one of the best ever, and the video of the gig will soon be up on our site, as well as on our myspace page and on Popmorphic’s website www.popmorphic.com. And really cleverly – the video comes with a crazy gadget that allows you to choose who you watch on the video at any one time, giving you the chance to create your own view of the gig! Keep your eyes peeled for it coming soon :) xxxx

Success at Eurosonic!!
The Trip have found their sea legs! As if jumping in a splitter van complete with slightly defunct PS2 and partying the night away on the overnight ferry crossing from Hull to Rotterdam wasn’t adventure enough, we kicked off a cracking evening of UK acts on the opening night of Eurosonic Festival in Groningen earlier this month. A brilliant venue, and an enthusiastic audience made the night go with a bang, and we got a fab review in this week’s NME. But for those of you who’ve missed it, we’re in NME online too, there are TWO different write ups, on www.nme.com! It won’t be long before we return to Holland either as we have been asked to play at London Calling festival in Amsterdam in April. Amazing!!

Friends of Manc Festival!
To everyone who came down to support us at the Friends of Manchester festival, we apologies for inviting you to such a shambolic, unorganised, nightmare of a night! You'd think that the fact they were running 2 hours behind was bad enough :o/ We now know which festival we won't doing again anyway! Thanks a million though to everyone who came down to support us, as usual much appreciated! If you fancy popping down to see us at a properly organised gig with a real sound desk/man then we're headlining Night and Day on Feb 28th :o) You can pre buy your ticks for just £5 online @ http://www.thewonderwall.com/tickets/product/The-Jessie-Rose-Trip-at-Manchester-Night-and-Day-Cafe.html Thanks again chicos y chicas ;o)

Article from: organart.demon.co.uk- Have a read!
THE JESSIE ROSE TRIP – Barfly, London, Oct 2008 – Well something a little different going on here and the festering cattle market that is the Camden Barfly on nights like this isn’t blunting Jessie Rose’s different touch too much. Tonight is a best of the “new” bands that have been “discovered” at the Manchester In The City music industry backslapping wankothon, the “new” brought to London and paraded for the “wise”. The place is wall to wall in “important” people, all looking for faces more important than you to talk to as they look over your shoulder to see who just came in. We Organs are here for the industry’s latest “hot new discovery”, some band called To The Bones. Hot new band indeed, some ever on the case A&R Man in the bar asks us if we’ve heard To The Bones yet? Apparently he thinks we might just like them – no flies on these A&R men, don’t miss a trick do they? So The Jessie Rose Trip are down in London, they’re from Manchester as well, first on of four with their sweet sweet musical goodness – a whole bag of subtle edgy slightly angular funk and indie-reggae tunes jousting with guitars and trumpety keyboard bits and hints of Nina Simone, Lily Allen or maybe even Amy Winehouse – that should be taken as a compliment and a testament to Jessie Rose and her rather impressive voice rather than us being lazy. Idiosyncratic goodness, jazzy alt.soul, and good pop songs that are simply different – the ukulele does help give it that different feel, that and the rather jarring percussive feel (along with the ‘interesting’ dress sense). Anyway, powerful singer, good band, different, good sense of now, Northern soul, they were good in the difficult atmosphere of a first on in front of a folded arms and the here-to-judge-the-fuck-out-of-you London audience (© MayKay Fight Like Ape) and worth a mention while we’re passing and waiting for “hot new band” To The Bones to take to the stage, rip shit up and do that swallowing hair and throwing guitars around thing that we’re told we might just like – wonder if that A&R man wants a copy of that first Bones single? http://www.organart.demon.co.uk/neworgan284.htm
